This is La Paz The department of La Paz has a territorial extension of 133,985 km ², is contiguous with Peru to the west, Chile to the southwest and the departments of Pando to the north, Beni to the east, Cochabamba to the Southeastern and Oruro to the south. Of narrow and extended figure, it includes diverse territories, from those of the Bolivian Altiplano, where the capital settles, of equal name and to an altitude of 3,600 ms on the level of the sea, until arriving at level the amazonian ones. The Altiplano occupies an intermediate position with the lake Peruvian-Bolivian of Titicaca and his river emissary the Drainage. The northern fall from the Andes is furrowed by the fluvial network of the Beni and its affluent, and forms the region of the Yentas, sheltered climate valleys more warming up. These topographical conditions make a rich climatic variety that goes from earth you cold of the Altiplano, cattle vocation and in which only cultivates barley and Pope (potato), happening through territories tempered of the Yentas, where it appears the grapevine, the fruit trees and the maize, until warm territories of tropical climate, in which it cultivates the cacao and the cane. |
